Week 2!
Well actually only the pictures. A full report will be filled in when we get home. So enjoy the pics!

First week!
So, the first week is almost over.
It was a busy one!!
We arrived on saturday evening, so we didn't really do much.
Sunday was mother's day,
We had breakfast at Denny's, eggs, bacon, ham, sausages, toast and pancakes! After that Tess and I went to do some shopping and in the evening Ralph, Kara, Eveline, Henk, Hayden and Olivia came over for dinner.
It was a lot of fun to see everyone and Olijfje for the first time.
On monday we went to Banff, Lake Louise, Field, Natural Bridge, Yoho National Park, Emerald Lake and the Kicking Horse river. It was a lot of fun because there was a huge amount of snow here!!! I loved it and offcourse I got stuck to my knees. Not used to being in the snow I think.
At 4 we went to the hotel in Lake Louise, our rooms were pretty small but after Tess and I redecorated the room it was fine.
We had dinner in the small town and went back to the hotel... HOT TUB TIME!!
The hot tub was on the roof in the middle of the mountains, so awesome!!
After the kids got to bed we played Canada-opoly. It's the Canada version of Monopoly ;)
At 10:40 pm we went to sit in the hot tub again. To bad the clouds were there otherwise we could see the stars..
The hot tub closed at 11 pm so we continued our Canada-opoly... Scott was out of the game pretty fast, Harm was next and Tessa and I were still in the game.. Tessa won eventually... big time!
We went to bed at like 1.30 am but it was fun!!
Next day we went to Banff town. I shopped at Lush and Gap.... love it!! Banff is soooo cute!!
We went back to Calgary and shopped at Tommy Hilfiger... Shopping days like that are gooooood.
In the evening, Tessa, Jennifer, Jenny, Meryl, Kara, Monica, Alicia and I went on a Ladies Night at Tantra. In a limo!!!
There were strippers there but they were hilarious. It was fun though. We all got little tipsy.... even I! I fell down when I tried to open the car.... funny!
On the way home I think we drove Scott crazy... we were kind of loud I guess..
Wednesday we had a calm day at home, relaxing.
Thursday Tessa dropped us at Market Mall. Shopping!! And Lush again!! Don't you just love Lush? I do, and I'm a official addict!
In the evening we went to Eveline and Henk and have dinner there.
It's Friday now (in Holland it's saturday, I am aware of that) and we went to the Zoo with Jennifer, Jessica, Tessa and their kids...
Tonight a bunch of people are coming and we'll have a fire and make s'mores..

Okay, It’s april 1ste so a joke was needed. Anyone didn’t notice they were pulling a joke on you? My job had a boring one. They put a message on the internet that coffee had to be paid. 11,10 Euro per month. Nobody read it so it failed! Funny :-D
Friday again! Don’t you just love them? The idea to have a whole weekend to go and don’t have to work. Every friday I go and do the groceries, go to Tweet and clean the house. Then I’m really off for the weekend! Clean house!
Cats, they are so much fun to look at. Playing, hugging, keeping warm. Yeah, we got people cats! So lovely when they like people!
Don’t really got anything to talk about. Deep inside I’m really boring...

Worked at dads again. Always nice since dad doesn’t need me that bad so I’m home at 2. If you think that I start at 10 it’s a short day a work......

Today was a good day.. Today was the day I first went to the Nurburgring. We had a MR2 meeting there. I met up with a friend at 6:30 at my place. From here we went to Roermond to Wouters place ( I have a company with him called Infinity Performance ). We checked out our new demo car and went on our way.
I put a little story here that’s going in the MR2only magazine..
Karfreitag am Nurburgring 2009
As always I was looking on the Dutch forums. A post reached my eyes. Nurburgring.. As a car enthousiast, holy ground. I open the topic, a huuuge meeting with various tuning clubs, carclubs and drivers. I say to myself I have to be there.
With my own MK1 still in bits and pieces I need to find myself a way to get there and I find forum member Metal_Carnage willing to drive to my house , pick me up and go to the meeting point in Maastricht. So we sign up.
After a month of waiting the day is there. We decided to meet up with MR2-Wouter , MR83 and 2 of there biker friends in Roermond to check out there track MR2 ( more about that one in this issue) and drive from Roermond to Maastricht.
Then the date came. 10th of April. Alarm clock goes at 6 am. Wesley texts me at 10 past that he’s 5 minutes away. I brush my teeth, grab my bag, my helmet and off we go. A 2 hour trip to Roermond. The ’86 American import MK1 is a reminder of my own MK1 I had a few years ago. Sunroof down , music on and off we go. All highway, no traffic jams Roermond was in sight in only 2 hours.
After a cup of coffee, the cash machine Maarten arrived in the blue MK2. I was staggered. Bride seats, Turbo ( ofcourse) Cusco suspension and the big wing made quite an appearance. After a few pictures , waiting for the bikers , we headed out to Maastricht to meet up with the rest of the club. So after 30 fast minutes ( with a very close encounter with the local police ) we met up. Filled the tank to the brim. And got some supplies aswell.
At the parking spot we were one of the last to arrive, everyone gathered around Wouter and Maartens car ( The Infinity Performance shop car ) and were astounded by it. We stood there for about an hour and then we left for the mighty Nurburgring. After about 2 km we already lost the front and the back group. We were behind a MK2 V6 which wasn’t to bad to listen to :) . Although we weren’t sure if we were headed in the right direction we kept going till around 1 we stopped at a petrol station somewhere in Belgium. We waited for the back group and right when we wanted to leave, Huub ( with his v6) closed the engine lid. 1 second later coolant was spraying all over the gas station floor. Not sure what happened, or it just overheated or the lid hit the overflow tank. A forum member quickly helped out to fill it with coolant again and we were on our way to the Ring again. Over the Highway to Hell ( which has this name for a reason ) and trough the forests. After about an hour we meet up with the front group and we go on to the Ring.
At around a quarter past 2 we get there shocked by the amount of people we saw. Lines, cars masses of people…. I wanted to get on track but with this amount of people there this could be a problem. I got in with another forum member ( Michel H) in his stock Toyota Starlet and instead of standing inline to a viewing point we stood at the entrance round about till the track opened. 1.5 hours later we got on track and did 2 laps. Michel explaining the track to me and showing what 500 laps does with your track knowledge.
After that most of the people left already and we decided to meet up with Metal_Carnage again. By the time it was reaching towards 5 o’clock and we were getting quite hungry. We met up with Wouter and the rest and had some dinner. Being passed by Skylines, Supra’s. S2000’s and more Porsches then you can count. The Ring really is a sacred place for car enthousiasts.
After dinner, we said goodbye and the 3.5 hour trip back to home started. Being followed by a yellow S15 and a yellow R34 GTST along the way. Waving to a black MK3 Spyder on the German highway who was in a group with a yellow Evo , a black 350Z and a Civic.
The road home was boring, we were both very tired from what we saw, what we did and the 6’am alarm clock. It was all worth it though. Gave me new inspiration to finish my car fast. And to go back as soon as possible.

Remember the rodeo pony?
He got a awesome new house today!! I went with Ilse (owner Pierrot) and her parent to bring Piet to Zoetermeer. He’s got a lovely house were he can walk outside all day and play with an other horse. Last time I heared he is doing great!! Go happy ending!

So this evening I played some indoor soccer again. I sprained my ankle a week ago ( 2 days before the Ring aaargh!) Luckily everything went great and I had great fun with my brother.

Tweety!! Since the weather is very good the last couple of days so I took Tweet for a walk and made pictures of her. After 10 years I still think she is the best, prettiest and sweetest.

Thursday again… Today was a day… Like any other.. Work, traffic jams and shopping on Thursday evening :D Didn’t get much though.

Went to Putten (Gelderland) with a couple off good friends. Went to ride horses there. It is Tweety her old owner and I haven’t seen him in 10 years so that was much fun. Rented 2 horses and 3 ponies and went riding in the forest of the Veluwe. Offcourse we got lost. But we got back just an half an our to late. It was lovely!

Harm is off sporting again with his brother and friends. Went out for dinner with mom since dad had a late meeting. Had a nice dinner nothing special, except for the sun. I just love the sun!!

I’m helping a follow MR2 friend of with his MR2 Magazine called MR2Only… It’s a MR2 dedicated magazine full with features, meetings etc etc. Since I have a company with a friend of mine called Infinity Performance and he just bought a demo car we are writing a full feature on the car just like we did on the Karfreitag day we had.

One off harms best friends bought an appartement with her boyfriend and we went there for the housewarming party. Had a lot off fun with the karaoke machine. Harm can sing!! Real loud!!
Working. Today was my last week working for my dad. So we stopped at 12 and went to get supplies for Canada. Got, all off the 34 kilo’s.... Enough?

40 days to go!
There we are again, long time ago!
Harm went on a ski trip last weekend (thursday till monday) with his co-workers and boss. So I was home alone.
Finally time to go and work on the bathroom.
Now it's soooooooo lovely! :D I'm pleased with it!
Harm got home at 15:30 and fell asleep at 18:30, woke up to shower and went to bed again.
So I'm still sitting here all by myself (think Bridget Jones).
Just did my nails, they are red now.
40 days to go, that's soooo fast and we can't wait! :D Looking forward to it.
A well. I'm just going to be bored again!

And here we are again!! * listens to applause *
Today was a day of lots of manual labor. I worked on my car today, we went to the gym, Eva did loads of horse riding. And we had the sun out most of the day, excellent.
I started stripping the suspension on my car. I got stuck on the left front control arm. The rest is mostly done. Next week finish up that side, and move on to the right. I know there is ony broken bolt on the brake caliper that I need to look at. I'll try to work on it on saturday so I can paint some parts on sunday.

And here's day 56.. I'm waaay to tired to put something of real interest here so here goes...
Today I did a number of things... I slept in till around 10, then yelled at my virtual soccer team for not scoring any goals and losing 5-2.... and 0-3 etc... Then I made brunch for Eva and me and after that I got to work on Wout's Audi which needed a new front pipe on the exhaust and a new suspension arm.. After that rushed out to wash myself up and go to Maria's b-day.
Eva however had a busier program. Go to the horse dry clean company to pick her stuff up, walk aroun with Tweety, get washed up and help her mom prepare everything.
