Ten on Tuesday

1. We went to Friesland last weekend, and I have to admit, it was fun! We got to Heerenveen on friday, went shopping a little and went back to the hotel. I bought a pair of leather boots and a cook book.
On saturday we went to Bolsward and Franeker. Lovely little villages. I really liked Franeker, it has a lot of history and offcourse the oldest home made planetarium.
We stayed in a bed and breakfast in Harlingen that night. What a lovely woman!
On sunday we went back to Leidschendam, but we stopped in Volendam first....


Yes.. I am aware of the fact that it is so wrong in so many ways... But my mom liked it so it is okay.

2. It's cold. Like... really cold. My fueltank cap was frozen yesterday. That was nice to get some fuel. I looked like an idiot.. It was cold in Canada, but this is starting to look a lot alike.

3. I hate calling people I hardly speak to. But for some reasons I end up doing it anyway.

4. Lately, I like going to bed early. Like at 9 o'clock in the evening. Could it be the winter? Or the nice bed? I think a combo.

5. How come... people want to borrow dvd's but never give them back. So.. my sollution is... keep my dvd's to myself.

6. I have a lot of respect for Kara... doing a ten on tuesday. It's hard!!

9. I miss summer... I know our 3 months of snow and cold is noting compared to Canada. But I just miss summer really bad.

Ten on Tuesday

1. Week number 9 with snow... Yes, you read that correctly. We have had 8,5 weeks with snow this winter. And it's not even spring so a lot of winter is still ahead of us...
I'm curious what's going to happen the next few months.

2. Does anyone knows how much fun it is to make cupcakes!! It's so much fun!!! I've made cherry-chocolat-whipped cream cupcakes and oreo cupcakes now and they all were awesome.


3. This weekend we are going to Friesland.... I've never been there yet for real. Just to pick something up. So I wonder how it's like. I'll let you know!

4. Did I tell anyone I'm hungry? Waiting for Harm to get home. Why does he have to work so far away?

5. I need to read more. I have like 20 books that still need to be read. I need more time!!

8. Horse news: I bought myself a new hat. So now I'm safe on my horse now... And that's a good thing cause Mo is pretty exited lately... o yeah, and strong. Like.. really strong.. Why did I buy a big horse?
No. I love her. And now she is extra cool.


9. Our commercials on tv are so long. I can listen to All the right moves 2 times....

10. I have another new addiction. Except for baking cupcakes. Buying covers for my Iphone...

ten on tuesday

1. My new saddle has come in! And it's comfy! We look pretty cool right now.


2. Holland is doing strange things... It's snowing... again! And the temp is -15 yesterday and today. We got used to a cold temperatuur in Canada. But I don't really like it for Holland. Hope we hit spring soon!

3. Last time I forgot to tell something.... I've gotten blond...sort of. I just wanted something else and I got that.


4. I'm boring... probably right now but also in real life... I just love puzzeling. I'm doing a christmas version now. Since we still (or again) have snow I'm allowed to make that puzzle.

5. I drove the MR2 today and will drive the MR2 tomorrow. Since the garage were it stood is going to be broken down I decided it can better be out on time. So I took it out today (it's a 2 minute walk from my work). And took it to work... the clients thought it was a Lamborgini.. yeah right!

7. My mom and I cleaned up my old stuff... I put it away in the garage. And since that's going to be taken down, it moved to our house.
It's sooo funny seeing all your kids stuff back. Agenda's from high school and cd from '95. Cleopatra, coming at ya!

8. My little baby was in heat. Yes, while I'm writing this, Vicky was in heat.. and she was funny!

9. I had an awesome weekend!! Just relaxed a lot, went to the horses for 9 hours in two days... I love those kind of weekends. Now I just need to work for 2 days and it's weekend again!

10. I like going to bed early... Just get a lot of sleep and wake up well rested. So I'm going to do that now. See you next week!

Ten on Tuesday......

Since I love reading Kara’s ten on Tuesday I thought I could start one too.

So here we go!

1. This year we had a record amount of snow in Holland. Not only the amount but also the time it stayed here...... 6!!!! weeks!! I love snow... but not when I have horses. So I’m quite happy it’s gone now. But we have nice pictures of it!

2. I bought Miss Mo a new saddle!! It’s called a barefoot cheyenne drytex and it’s very comfortable for Mo as it is for me. So now I’m waiting for it to arrive. Waiting is ennoying!

3. A dutch group has a new song that I just love. For the dutchies - people who speak Dutch; Jurk – zou zo graag.

4. I love taking long showers.. I know it’s bad for the enviroment but I can’t help it. Just sitting there, warming up. It’s sooooo nice!

5. Last week I thought about taking new pictures from the cats. The only ones we have are with a ugly background or they don’t look charming at all! Why can I take nice pictures of other people’s animals but can’t take nice pictures of the cats I know best..

6. I feel old... Yes, I know I’m only 23, but I life a grown up life for three years now... I would really like it to just hang out on school, don’t have to do laundry, don’t have to cook, don’t have to think about what I’m going to eat next week. A well, as long as I can still act like a 12 year old with friends I’m going to be okay.

7. I’m wearing make-up! Yes, after a long time of just using mascara and eyeliner, Kara got me to start wearing make-up. And it’s pretty easy actually. Plus... my mom loves it! She is saying that everytime she sees me..

8. We really need to develop pictures taken in Canada in the holiday. I’m saying that for 2 weeks now and it’s getting ennoying. I know there are pictures in there I just really like... no, not the one Kara put on her blog... me being santa when I just woke up.

9. I would like to do a 101/1001... that’s a Dutch thing I think. You make 101 targets for yourself (go on a holiday to New York, finish your studie etc) and you are supposed to finish those in a 1001 days... Am I brave enough for that? And do I know a 101 targets? I’m a happy person already

10. Last one! This was pretty funny actually! Sooooo, 1 of my targets is going to be: keep your blog up to date!!

Im writing this on my BlackBerry since Eva is already asleep. But it just hit me that we have been together for more then 3 years and those were a blast. She is the best gf i can wish for. She understands me, shes fun to have around, good to have fun with and full of great ideas. Up to the next 3 years! Love you baby!

Oh Canada....

Why is it everytime I come back to Holland I feel like crap. No its not the jetlag. Nor the long trip. Its just that I miss everybody there. I miss getting up in the morning and sitting at the counter with a cup of coffee with Kara and Ralph. I miss getting up in the morning to the sound of Sienna talking. I miss going to Tim Hortons and Starbucks for a quick coffee. I miss just hanging with everybody, chilling out , having fun. Hell, I even miss the airbed.

Somehow Canada just makes me feel great. The way of life. The stores, the roads, the attitude. But most of all. The people I fell in love with. In total, I've spend 6 weeks with them. It seems like I've known them forever. We barely been trough stuff together. Though the thoughts of camping makes my stomach feel weird. Or the thought of a hot tub in the mountains makes me wonder off.

The smell of BBQ here makes me think, sheesh, these BBQ's suck. The way snow is handeled here make me scream out PUSSIES! and make me think back. Drifts in a F150....

One thing, I do know. I need to go back. In 6 or 7 months. I need to go back. One way or another. I need to go back. Some people smoke, some people do drugs. I do Canada. For those 2 weeks. I feel alive. I feel like my life has sense. Like its fun. Like I have a meaning to be there. Everytime I'm there. I dont want to go back. Days fly by.

Whenever I think of the last holiday now. It puts tears in my eyes. Tears for not being able to be there. To see what they are up to. Whenever I get an email from Ralph, Tess or Kara. It makes me feel closer. Makes me feel, like I'm there. Makes me feel...... like a friend.

Meeting people this time around has even broadened my view even more. People like Brandon. Met him twice, feels like he's been a friend of years.

I just figured out what I might want as a first tattoo... a nice small maple leaf...

Gooooodmorning!

Wow! I was checking everybody's blog and found out we didn't write anything for a loooooonnnngg time!

How's life!

Well, I bought a new horse..... her name is Miss Mo, she is an Irish Cob, with spots and lots and lots of hair. Eveline and Henk saw here already.. Even sat on her... haha.
She is soooo sweet!
A month or 2 ago we had an eventing game. That was a lot of fun, jumping over fences and trees. Just love it!

In holland it has been raining for 2 weeks now. The land were the horses are one is soaking wet. Looks more like a pool than a farm. Well, shit happends.

For us, it's 20 days to go till we are in Canada and we/I can't wait!! It's probably going to be very cold.... since yesterday it was 8 degrees here and after 2 hours of horse riding I was frozen..... that's going to be funny :P


Harm is still asleep. I'm going to wake him up soon. Need to do some Sinterklaas shopping. A well..
